Calling all true Beliebers, this one’s for you! There’s not much more to say other than Justin Bieber: Our World will reaffirm his fans’ love for Justin– the man (when did that happen!?) and the artist– and it may impress those on the fence about the Grammy-winning pop star. The Biebs comes off quite sincere in this concert film that chronicles the run-up to, and the songs performed at a groundbreaking show that took place on New Year’s Eve 2020 on the rooftop of the Beverly Hilton hotel while adhering to a slew of strict COVID-19 protocols.

A small crew follows Justin and his longtime collaborators through rehearsals, construction of the massive set, and the performance which was livestreamed around the world. The Biebs himself supplements the footage with self-shot videos that bring the audience into his daily life with wife Hailey.

If you’re familiar with his songs and weren’t among the 240 guests lining the hotel balconies to witness the show, then you will surely appreciate the opportunity to watch it all unfold in this documentary. And you can’t help but feel some relief that Bieber seems to have a good head on his shoulders these days, and makes a point (repeatedly) about counting his blessings and surrounding himself with good people.

I don’t have any of Bieber’s records and am only vaguely familiar with (some of) his songs, so I wasn’t watching through the lens of a die-hard fan, but rather through the lens of someone who recalls not hating the 2011 documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. I wish him continued luck and success and protection from the entrapments of fame.

Justin Bieber: Our World will be available worldwide exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on October 8, 2021. It is rated PG and has a running time of 95 minutes.
